This can't be good

I'm feeling pretty discouraged rigth now.
I am in pain.
My foot aches. It actually aches a lot. I have no idea why. I just took 3 weeks off...almost completely!!! I did a few slow and easy runs and two 1000 yard swims. WHY would I have an injury NOW????
it's the off season and while I am ready to start back in to things, I know this is the best time to have an injury. IF there is a GOOD time.
It started Sunday night. I ran that day--an easy run. Nothing notable. Just a 5 mi jog. My feet were sore in their typical way. Nothing to note.
That night my left foot began to ache. On top. In one area.
I know. Not good.
It radiates at times....on and off. But for the past few hours, its' been on. It's making me a little nauseus. Sounds like a stress fx doesn't it.
I see the doc on Thursday. I am afraid of what I'll learn.
This can't be good. I wish I had just dropped a can of soup on it and that would explain things. But I didn't.
And WHY after all that time off?? I don't get it.

Yikes. Think it might be a stress fracture? Get it checked out soon, the mental anguish of guessing just plain sucks.

Can you jump on it? That's the litmus test for a stress fracture (I had 2, I should know). I am glad you are getting your foot checked out. Stress fractures in the foot heal the quickest, and you've already taken 3 weeks off! I am coming back from an ITband issues, too, and I kept telling myself that the timing is not that bad for an injury....it helped, a little...

Hey,
Stay Positive, this could have happened at an alot worse time, like 4 weeks ago... get it checked and move on, and overcome..

Injuries stink, but at least this happened AFTER Hawaii :) I had to pull out of IM CDA a week before due to a stress fx in my femur and I am still not 100% back. Good luck with your foot.

Hang in there Ange! I know this is really tough...and I don't know either why its happening. I'm thinking of you... the great news is that 1) It didn't happen before Kona 2) You've got an AWESOME base built up and 3) off season, therefore plenty of time to figure it out. I'm thinking of you!!!

Ange, sorry to hear that. Hope you can get it sorted out soon. I know you have lots of problems with your feet and it must be frustrating. On anotehr note, good luck with your "page turning".

Keeping my fingers crossed that it's not too serious. I'm not trying to minimize your pain but maybe it's aching from just getting started up again after some time off? I hope so! Thinking of you...good thing you are getting it checked out ASAP!

I bet it's NOT a stress fracture. I have no reason to believe that, I just it would be weird if it was... You haven't been applying stress! I am betting you strained or pulled a muscle in your foot...
Fingers crossed.

Hope you get good news. Just knowing what's wrong usually makes it seem much less frightening.

A stress fx right now really would be WEIRD! I find that injuries that come on suddenly with no obvious reason tend to go away just as suddenly. The ones that come on gradually that you ignore until they get really bad are the ones that take the most recovery time. Just my theory!
